Bullets goalkeeper Rabson Chiyenda frustrated Wanderers as he displayed a solid performance.

LILONGWE (Tamanda Mwale, Malawi NewsNow) –Nyasa Big Bullets secured their final slot in the Airtel Top 8 after beating Mighty Be Forward Wanderers 2-1 during the semis clash at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

This means that Bullets will face Blue Eagles in the final on June 30.

Striker Bright Munthali grabbed the opener in the 62nd minute, scoring from close range after connecting a Fischer Kondowe corner kick.

Bullets added the second goal through Chiukepo Msowoya who headed the ball into the net after Nomads goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa failed to clear the ball in the 69th minute.

Substitute Zicco Mkanda gave the Nomads some hope pulling one back after some good work from Yamikani Chester in the 83rd minute to set up a tense finish.

Bullets coach Rogers Yasin said they were happy to reach the finals.

“Our focus will now be to grab the cup,” he said.

On his part, Nomads’ team manager Stevie Madeira said:“We could not convert most of the chances into goals.It was another bad day in office.”
