62 Malawian illegal immigrants in Zimbabwe deported

MWANZA (Malawi NewsNow)- Harare has sent back home 62 an undocumented Malawians, who included two children and 12 women.

Mr Pascal Zulu, spokesperson the Immigration department at Mwanza has cofirmed the illegal immigrants arrived from Harare on Wednesday.

He said 48 of them were men. Zulu said 62 Malawians has spent months in Zimbabwe jails before they were repatriated.

“We should change our mind set, we cannot go to other countries without travel documents,” he said.

He said the people say they leave Malawi in order to get rich elsewhere, saying this was not true as people get rich within Malawi.

“Instead of getting rich, they end up in prison,” he said.

There are at least 3000 Malawians at undocumented holding centre in South Africa, Lindera.

Government says it is too broke to repatriate them.

Meanwhile, Malawians havee recated with rage to what they see as unbrotherly love from Zimbabwe and have asked their own government to start deporting thousands of Zimbabweans living quite life in Malawi.
