BLANTYRE (Malawi NewsNow) – Malawi leader of opposition Lazarous Chakwera has condemned the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for its love of political violence unleashing panga-wielding thugs to attack opposition members.
Chakwera, president of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) was speaking at a political rally at Nyambabwe in Blantyre on Sunday, said the opposition are there to offer checks and balances and not necessarily as enemies of government.
“Don’t destroy the future of our children by sending them to political battles with pangas,” said Chakwera.

Chakwera also bemoaned rampant corruption in government, saying President Peter Mutharika should walk the talk on zero-tolerance to corruption.
