Harawa attempts to beat Dedza player

LILONGWE (Malawi NewsNow) –Silver Strikers climbed into third place in the TNM Super League with a 2-1 win over Dedza Young Soccer at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.

Peter Wadabwa’s brace and Green Harawa goal took the bankers closer to league leaders Bullets.

They are now tied on 29 points from 17 games with second places Blue Eagles who have a good goal advantage difference with the Bankers.

Silver Strikers lost their defender Lucky Malata after he sustained an injury. Mike Ntonya was introduced but had also to be substituted after he also got injured.

Young Soccer offered little threat but pulled a goal back in the later stages of the match through Amadu Makawa.

Silver coach Lovemore Fazili said the win was a “vital boost”.

But Dedza coach Millias Pofera  his charges “did not use the scoring opportunities we had.”
