Jamaica’s Busy Signal

BLANTYRE (Malawi NewsNow) -Jamaican reggae dancehall icon, Busy Signal,  will perform live in Malawi at this year’s Sand Music Festival on the sand beaches of Salima’s Sunbird Livingstonia hotel to be held from October 30 to November 1 2015

Festival director and Malawi’s legendary musician, Lucius Banda,  said the Jamaican  singer, real name Glendale Goshia Gordon, will be headlining this year’s central beach festival.

Speaking at the press briefing in Blantyre on Tuesday, Lucius Banda said the choice of Busy Signal as the headliner of this year’s event was part of innovation.

“Sand Music Festival is improving every year. This year it is coming even bigger and better upon invitation of Busy Signal as the headliner,” said Lucius.

Lucius described Signal as not only a landmark for the festival but also an opportunity for local artists.

“We’re excited to have Busy Signal in Malawi when he’s at the peak of his music career, it doesn’t usually happen to have an international act in the country when they are in great demand,” he indicated.

The country’s airline, Malawian Airlines, who are one of the sponsors of the Sand Music Festival, has since confirmed that Busy Signal will land on 29th October and leave on 2nd November.

Some artists to perform at the Sand Music Festival include Black Missionaries, Skeffa Chimoto, Lucius Banda, Great Angels Choir, Danny K (Zambia), Jah Prayzer (Zimbabwe), Nepman, Ethel Kamwendo-Banda, Lulu, Piksy, Blakjak, Thocco Katimba, Wendy Harawa, Soul Raiders Band, Edgar ndi Davis and Sally Nyundo.
