LILONGWE (Malawi NewsNow) – Completion of cross examination in the Malawi High Court of one of those accused of involvement in the theft and plunder of public funds (cash-gate), dominated Malawi daily newspapers on Wednesday.
Both The Nation and the Daily Time focused on Cash-gate suspect, Ms Angella Katengeza who is answering to money laundering charges.
She is expected to know her fate following the completion of cross-examination by both the state and the defence.
Katengeza’s lawyer, Gilbert Khonyongwa said the case has finished and what remains were written submissions to be handed over to the court by October 7.
He said thereafter the state will have a maximum of two weeks to respond to the submissions and the process is expected to be completed by October 21 whereby the court will set a date when it will deliver judgment on the case.
