NKHATABAY (Malawi NewsNow ) —Governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has urged opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to desist from casting insinuations at President Prof. Peter Mutharika.
DPP regional governor for the north, Mr Kenneth Sanga said in Nkhatabay that it was “unfair comment” for the opposition party to call the Head of State, Mutharika, a thief.
Sanga directed his call to MCP spokeswoman Dr Jessie Kabwila, saying: “Every time she mentions President Peter Mutharika, she talks about him as if the president is a child or a thief.”
He said DPP members throughout the country are “not happy” with Kabwira’s “insults and castigations” towards Mutharika.
“The way Kabwira describes President Mutharika leaves a lot to be desired,” said Sanga.
Sanga said Kabwira though she is an academician, she behaves like a brute
Kabwira, however, says she does not disrespect the President but that DPP were insulting to leader of opposition Dr Lazarous Chakwera, saying they are getting a dose of their medicine.
She said “DPP should start respecting Dr Chakwera.”
