SYDNEY (Malawi NewsNow) –Malawi Queens side have beaten Sri Lanka 101-18 at the Netball World Cup in Australia in what has been the biggest score line of the tournament so far.
With Malawi’s win on Saturday, they stay top of Pool C four points from two games after beating South Africa in their opening match.
South Africa bounced back from their loss to Malawi on Friday with a crushing 69-21 victory over Singapore on Saturday.
Malawi’s final round robin match is on Monday when they take on Singapore while South Africa will face Sri Lanka.
Elsewhere, in first big game of tournament England showed some previously unseen fortitude to beat Jamaica 54-50 , Australia gave Barbados an 83-16 bath. The Diamonds again ran a variety of lines and they look more than ready to meet New Zealand on Sunday.
Uganda continued to impress, beating Fiji 61-40. Goal shoot Proscovia Peace converted 37/45 and looks a very useful player.
The Gail Parata-coached Scotland got their first win, beating Samoa 47-36 and South Africa had a 63-20 victory over Singapore.
