BLANTYRE (Malawi NewsNow ) —Bullets and Flames striker Chiukepo Msowoya is heading to Middle East to play in Lebanon, Bullers Technical Director Billy Tewesa has confirmed.
Tewesa says Msowoya will undergo a two-day trial at an undisclosed top league, saying it is the striker’s chance to prove his prowess after struggling in the past one year due to injuries or lack of match fitness.
“Chiukepo is indeed going for trials in Lebanon where he is expected to undergo trials,” Tewesa said.
“He is expected to return next week because it’s just for two days as the team had already observed him through video clips.”
He said the club would not block his chances of pursuing his professional career.
“We are very happy for Chiukepo because it shows that people are noticing that he has regained his prowess,” he said.
The development comes barely a week after returning from South Africa where he underwent trials at Bidvest Wits of top fight league.
But the deal might be foiled amidst reports of agents clashing over ownership of the player.
Bidvest are expected to release results of the trials to the club.
But Vice-Secretary Kelvin Moyo confessed that the deal could be jeopardised by the unprofessional handling of the player.
“This is really a concern to us. But I hope it will not be the same case with what happened to Peter Mponda while working on a possible deal with French League side Auxerre.
