BLANTYRE (Malawi NewsNow ) — Deputy Director of Administration at Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) Mr Elvis Thodi has been accused of sexual harassment by women at his work place, Malawi NewsNow can reveal.
The accusations are contained in a protest letter . concerned women workers at tax collecting body have writtem Chairperson of MRA Board of directors Ms Evelyn Mwapasa.
The female employees are accusing Thodi of sexual harassmentusing his position .
A source told Malawi NewsNow: “The women staff have lodged a formal complaint collectively.”
A senior management officer at MRA said the tax body takes a hard line approach to harassment, with staff told that they must not do anything “whilst on or off duty which could damage MRA’s reputation”.
MRA officials refused to comment but indicated they are investigating the allegations “therefore inappropriate for us to comment any further at this stage of the process.”
